About Lucy White

I’ve worked in the nonprofit sector for over three decades. Now I support the women who lead it.

From running nonprofits to coaching the people who do.

I didn’t set out to work in the nonprofit sector.

I fell into it, stayed for the people and the purposeful work, and before long had built a career I was genuinely proud of.

The coaching piece came later.

As an interim executive director stepping into organizations in crisis, I kept finding myself in coaching conversations. Staff would seek me out. Leaders would open up. So I pursued formal training and fell completely in love with it.

Coaching is immediate, personal, and direct in a way that consulting rarely is.

What I discovered – and what I now see in almost every client I work with – is that the patterns and beliefs we carry for years tend to have more influence than we’d like to admit.

That’s what I’m here to help with.

Why it works.

A collaborative process, not a prescription

There’s no predetermined plan or set of answers. We figure it out together, starting with what you want, what’s getting in the way, and what a different path forward could look like for you.

The outer work follows the inner work

Most leadership challenges have a strategic and a human layer. I work on both. But in my experience, it’s the inner patterns, beliefs, and habits that determine whether the outer change actually sticks.

Deeply personal, by design

This isn’t a report or a set of recommendations. It’s a working relationship built entirely around you, your goals, and your specific circumstances. That intimacy is exactly what makes it so effective.

This work is for you if…

You’re great at your job, but lately you’ve been wondering if that’s enough

You’ve built a career around serving others, and your own goals keep getting postponed

You find yourself in survival mode more often than you’d like to admit

You don’t have anyone in your life you can be fully honest with about how you’re feeling

You have a sense of what needs to change, but haven’t been able to make it stick on your own

You’re facing a decision or transition that feels too big to figure out alone

You’re ready to stop waiting for things to get better and actually do something about it

Real results in their own words

Lucy White just gets it. I didn’t have to explain the dynamics of a member-based arts organization. She already understood. The time was spent in a high-value way, and there was a high level of comfort and confidence from the very beginning.

The way that I’ve responded to adversity now, compared to how I responded four years ago, is vastly different. Coaching with Lucy White has changed the way that I deal with things.

LAURA ADLERS
NONPROFIT CONSULTANT

Lucy White helped me identify the factors that cause burnout and coached me on managing the triggers and inner thoughts that cause stress, while helping me refocus on my career goals. I respond differently to stress now and am mastering the art of setting boundaries.

Everyone who is a nonprofit leader should sign up for her program.
