BONNIE S.

Built for a specific kind of leader.

You’re a woman in a nonprofit leadership role (executive director, CEO, senior manager, consultant, etc.), looking for coaching that understands your world.

You’ve been in the sector long enough to understand its unique pressures, but you’re tired of navigating them alone.

You want more confidence, less self-doubt, and a career that doesn’t cost you everything.

You’re intellectually curious and have already done a lot of self-reflection. You just haven’t been able to turn it into lasting change.

You’re open to trying a structured, science-backed approach and willing to put in the work between sessions.

You’re at a crossroads, whether that’s burnout, a major decision, a career transition, or simply a growing sense that something has to give.

What working with me looks like.

Step 1: Understand

Before anything else, we look at the full picture. What’s working, what isn’t, and where the pressure points are in your work and life.

Step 2: Shift

Using the Mental Fitness framework, you’ll develop mental habits that change how you respond to stress, self-doubt, and adversity—from the inside out.

Step 3: Integrate

Insight without action is just information. This phase is about making the work stick. You’ll take what you’ve learned into your actual life and build on it session by session.

The life on the other side of this work.

You respond to stress and adversity differently, and actually notice the difference.

You stop second-guessing yourself in the moments that matter most

You have more energy for the parts of life you’ve been putting off

You get clear on what you want and start moving toward it

You feel like a leader again, not just someone holding everything together

You stop waiting for things to get better and start designing what comes next

Practicing throughout the day has allowed me to build resilience for adverse situations. The Mental Fitness program provides tools that deliver results, and Lucy’s coaching has helped me get the most out of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time does this actually take each week?

The Mental Fitness Program requires about 15 minutes of daily practice, a weekly peer check-in call, and a 60-minute weekly training module video. The 1:1 coaching sessions are biweekly and last approximately 50 minutes.

Do I need to complete the Mental Fitness Program before starting 1:1 executive coaching?

I strongly recommend starting with the Mental Fitness Program. It builds the foundational tools, language, and self-awareness that make the 1:1 work more effective and help clients progress faster.

I'm not sure if I’m experiencing burnout. Is this still for me?

Absolutely. Burnout coaching is one reason people seek out my services, but it’s not the only one. Many clients arrive feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or facing a major decision or transition. If something feels off and you’re ready to do something about it, this work is for you.

What is mental fitness coaching and why does it work?

Mental fitness coaching is a science-backed framework that identifies the inner critics driving self-doubt, stress, and self-sabotage and builds the habits to intercept them. Grounded in neuroscience and neuroplasticity research, it helps rewire patterns over time. Most clients notice real shifts by week three or four.

How is this different from other executive coaching programs?

Most nonprofit executive coaching focuses on external challenges: strategy, leadership skills, and organizational dynamics. This work goes deeper. Using the mental fitness framework, we address the inner patterns, beliefs, and mental habits that determine whether outer change actually sticks. Combined with my decades of nonprofit sector experience, it’s coaching that understands your specific world and gets to what’s actually getting in the way.

Is this worth the investment if I've already tried therapy or other coaching?

Therapy and coaching serve different purposes. Therapy focuses on healing and processing the past. Coaching centres on the present and future: where you are now, what you want to change, and how to get there.

If you’ve done therapy or other coaching and still feel stuck, it’s often because the missing piece is accountability, sector-specific support, and a structured framework for building new habits. That’s exactly what my nonprofit executive coaching provides.

Do you only work with women nonprofit leaders?

I primarily work with women nonprofit leaders, but if you identify differently, are earlier in your career, or simply curious, feel free to reach out.

Every nonprofit executive coaching journey starts with a single conversation.

If you’re ready, I’d love to have it.
